Our buildings are now open!

The Carnegie Center (including the Gift Shop) is open on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. The Moore House is open on Tuesdays from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm.  (Please Note: The Children’s History Room will not open until further notice.)

Visitors and customers are required to wear facial covering when entering the Carnegie Center or the Moore House. Please refer to our new protocols on our Home Page before you visit.

Individual Tours

THE CARNEGIE CENTER is open for tours on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10 am – 3 pm, and is home to the new permanent exhibits featuring the Lorain Lighthouse and Lorain Industry, the Children’s History Center and the Gift Shop.  (Note: The Children’s History Center is closed until further notice.)

Carnegie Center Tour Fees:

An admission fee of $8 is charged for all adults over 18; $3 for students age 6 – 18; free for children under 6 when accompanied by an adult.  Lorain Historical Society Members can tour for free.

THE MOORE HOUSE MUSEUM is open for tours on Tuesday from 10 am – 3 pm, and is the former home of Mayor Moore and his family during the 1920’s.  The Moore House gives visitors a unique insight into daily life during that time period.

Moore House Tour Fees:

An admission fee of $5 is charged for all adults over 18; $3 for students age 6 – 18; free for children under 6 when accompanied by an adult.  Lorain Historical Society Members can tour for free.

Group Tours

We welcome groups of 10-15 to visit either the Carnegie Center or the Moore House. Please contact us to make special arrangements for your visit. We request the courtesy of at least a two week lead time for group tours. Call 440-245-2563 or email us at [email protected]
