History at Home: Ruth Anna Fisher
March 16, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Lorain native and Oberlin College graduate Ruth Anna Fisher spent her career working to preserve and categorize history as one of the first African-American librarians in the Library of Congress. A truly 20th century woman, Fisher’s life and work intersect with many of the major players and events that shaped the last century, from her correspondence with D.E.B Dubois, her experience as an American abroad in London from the 1920’s through the impact of the Blitz, to her participation in the 1963 March on Washington.
Join former Ohio History Service Corps member and current M.A candidate Katrina Walker for a Women’s History Month talk on Ruth Anna Fisher. A graduate of Sarah Lawrence College, Katrina is currently pursuing her M.A in Arts Management at American University and hopes to use her love of history and public engagement in a career in museums.
