Civil Conversations in an Uncivil Era

October 17, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

It has been said that women have “mastered the art of conversation” and utilize it to effect social change.  In the final program of our series “Beyond the Nineteenth Amendment”, we welcome Janet Givens to Lorain.  Janet is the author of LEAPFROG…How to hold a civil conversation in an uncivil era.  As we move forward through the remaining days of 2020 and beyond, we can learn much from this intimate conversation with the author.

Anyone wishing to join the Zoom program should contact the Lorain Historical Society by emailing [email protected] and receive a link to the program. We invite our members and friends who live outside of Lorain County to participate in the program if you wish. There is no cost to participate.

Programming Note:

This year marks the 100th Anniversary of the Ratification of the 19th Amendment, granting women the right to vote. We have chosen to entitle our commemoration of this centennial “Beyond the 19th Amendment.” Our programs this year focus on stories of women, many of them from Lorain, who worked to improve their community during the time period leading up to and following the passing of the amendment.
