Annual Meeting and Banquet
May 12 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
“Celebrating Lorain: Rich in History and Strong in Tradition”
This year in a very real way, attendees will be able to demonstrate what it means to be part of The International City as they hear more about the conditions in Ukraine from Father Dmitri Belenky of St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church. County Commissioner Matt Lundy will outline for the audience the steps being taken by a coalition LC4Ukraine to prepare to welcome refugees from Ukraine to Lorain County in the coming weeks. The meeting provides an opportunity for all to show their solidarity with the Ukrainian people who are fighting for their country, their land, and their democratic way of life. Just as this struggle brought immigrants from Eastern Europe in the early 1920’s, so it will bring more here today. They rely on those who have already settled in this country and who call the United States home to open their hearts, their doors and their schools to those who are seeking a new opportunity and a better life.
