History Talk: All About Thew Shovel

Can you dig it?

Our first History Talk of 2019 will highlight Lorain's Thew Shovel Company.  Tom Berry, Archivist of the Historical Construction Equipment Association, will share his knowledge of the innovative spirit of Captain Richard Thew, the creation of his company, and the lasting influence of the machines that were developed in the city of Lorain.  After the program, we would like to invite people to share their own experiences and connections to Thew Shovel.

The program costs $5 to attend and will be held at the Carnegie Center, 329 W. 10th Street, Lorain, Ohio. Space is limited so reservations are recommended.  Call 440-245-2563 or email info@lorainhistory.org.    For more details about the Historical Construction Equipment Association go to www.hcea.net.
