Wayne Stewart, baseball historian and sports author, and Kelly Boyer Sagert, author of Hidden History of Lorain County and of multiple sports books, will discuss the experience of black players in the Negro League and those who helped shatter the color barrier years before Jackie Robinson rose to fame.
Special thanks to the Nord Family Foundation for their support of this program series. An exhibit of Cleveland Indians Baseball memorabilia is also on display, on loan from Rob and Katarina Levit.
Admission fee for this program is $5, payable at the door.
Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets ($5 each) for 4 Cleveland Indians tickets + a parking pass. These tickets are located behind home plate and are for the Friday, April 19th game vs. the Atlanta Braves. Winning raffle ticket will be drawn on Thursday, April 11 at the conclusion of the program.
