Our Vision Statement
We envision a future for Lorain where the Lorain Historical Society will be a leader in local history preservation, education, and community engagement; where children and adults are inspired by their shared and diverse history; and where people work together to create a vibrant city that is economically strong and a great place to live.
The Lorain Historical Society has grown dramatically over the past few years. We welcome new members—whether you live in Lorain or carry Lorain in your heart. To join, either download our membership form or click on the links below to join online.

The Lorain Historical Society sponsors several Educational Outreach programs throughout the year including tours of the Moore House and Carnegie Center. Our Summer Camp, in partnership with the Lorain Police Department and the Lorain Sports Hall of Fame, provided a variety of activities for children at the Little Lighthouse Learning Center.
There are many ways that you can become involved in the work of the Lorain Historical Society. We rely heavily on the efforts of our Volunteers for all of our fundraising events, office work, gift shop and tours. We try to match your interests and talents to the work that we have to do. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer you can download our Volunteer Form or call Kay Lewandowski, our Volunteer Coordinator, at 440-245-2563 for more information.
