In the Hands of Women Spotlight Exhibit March 5, 2017 - March 31, 2017

Join us for this fascinating art exhibit by Peggy Asensio, in honor of Women's History Month.  The exhibit will be available for viewing during the month of March.

Artist Peggy Asensio has been interested in hands as a subject since she did a detailed study of hands for a drawing class.  The fascination never left her, and she found that unlike traditional portraits, one's hands are representative of every aspect of a person's life.  They can reveal gender, age and race.  They are active participants in work, leisure, love, caring and creativity.

As women continue to break down the barriers in areas not open to them in the past, they continue to fulfill traditional roles as well.  Through this series of paintings, Peggy highlights the diversity and complexities of women's lives of all ages.

Admission to the exhibit is $5 (payable at the door).
